GREEK DANCE ARCHIVES   This is a non-profit association whose aim is to record, study and electronically document Greek dance.  It co-operates with and supports researchers of dance and cultural sectors in the collection and classification of primary and ancient material, as well as the publication of research papers which contribute to the documentation and promotion of Greek dance.

Founding members The founding members are university professors, researchers, physical education teachers and dance scholars from all over Greece. Since 1997 they have worked on regional documentation, the publication of research findings, the co-ordination of international conferences, the editing and publication of books and CD’s and also on productions for state television, E.R.T.

INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY The society has taken part in  three  European programs concerning the topics of dance documentation, cultural tradition and the exchange of cultural experience. Its members and associates participated in scores of international congresses on relevant themes, thus contributing to the expansion of its network of contacts on an international level. Co-operation with foreign sectors and international organizations have broadened its horizons with regard to its activities as well as in the area of modern performances of Greek dance.
